Standlake Ranch is a Christian retreat and outdoor education centre cited on a former gravel pit on the edge of the Cotswolds. The 20 acres of woodland is home to a large variety of wildlife such as birds, deer, rabbits and foxes. The site also includes a lake with reed beds popular with waterfowl such as moorhens. River Windrush also passes through the site.

New to OCV in 2012 we will be helping create paths to make it easier for visitors to appreciate the woodland and lake while also protecting the flora and fauna. Part of this work will include repairing and replacing steps and building a footbridge to an island.

Directions

From St Giles go up Woodstock Rd and get on the A40 going West towards Witney. At Witney, take the A415 South past Ducklington towards Standlake. Shortly after the B4449 junction, take a left off the A415 into Downs Rd. The Standlake Equestrain Centre and Ranch is 500m on the left. Once in the gate, pass the equestrian centre car park and go round to the left towards a wooden building.
