Description

Enslow Marsh lies between the River Cherwell and The Oxford Canal, East of the Hamlet of Enslow. The marsh is essentially a sedgebed: a rare type of swamp-like habitat, which is seasonally flooded with water and is dominated by sedge plant. It's a relatively rare habitat in need of conservation management.

Directions

Leave Oxford on the Banbury Road (A4165). Drive North through Kidlington on the A4260. Turn right onto the A4095. Cross the River Cherwell and take the next left before the canal bridge and The Rock of Gibraltar. There is limited parking immediately on your right hand side. Walk East for approximately 1 km along the tow path on the North bank of the canal bank past the marina. Enslow Marsh is on your left hand side between the river and the canal.
