Western Turville Reservoir, South of Aylesbury, is owned by British Waterways and managed by Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust. At one end of the reservoir is a large reed bed at one end that is home to an array of wild flowers and birds. OCV have assisted at this site by removing invasive reeds from the species-rich reservoir in order to increase the biodiversity and to allow the more delicate wild flora and fauna room to thrive. We have also helped by stabilising a path alongside a stream to allow public access without damaging the site, and added branches near the bird-hide to act as perches for the wildfowl.
Location
Leave Oxford on the A34 towards Bicester. Go over the M40 and join the A41 to Bicester. Stay on the A41 past Bicester and continue to Aylesbury where you need to get into the A413 to Amersham. Just past Stoke Manderville and Western Turvile the A413 will bend right, but you should carry straight on to Wendover on the Aylesbury road Western Turville is on your left before you reach Wendover.
